“We are a sake brewery.
How about making liqueur with our sake?”
“If we are using sake,
why not pair it with Fresh fruits juice?”
These simple wishes started our journey
to create HAKUSHIKA HANA-KOHAKU.
We use 100% Junmai Daiginjo sake
brewed in-house.
Fruits were selected based on the criteria
that their names could be written
in hiragana.
The sake, the fruit juices,
and the gentle sweetness are
all blessings from nature.
By paying close attention to
the ingredients to maximize flavor and color,
we have created a wonderful liqueur
that is
the perfect blend of
Junmai Daiginjo sake flavor
and aroma and rich fruit flavors.

The origin of HANA-KOHAKU and the label story

- The origin -

HANA-KOHAKU is a Japanese liqueur with natural colors of fruit juices. The liqueur shines amber inside the bottle. The name HANA-KOHAKU was created by combining KOHAKU, or amber, with HANA, or flower, which is the stage before the fruit that we use forms and ripens. The name represents the gorgeous taste and aroma and embodies the beautiful, transparent amber color.

Amber is a gemstone derived from tree sap, and it actually comes in a variety of colors. Similarly, HANA-KOHAKU varies in color, depending on the fruit and the lot of the fruit juices used.
We hope you enjoy the unique, varied beauty inside each HANA-KOHAKU bottle.

- About the label -

About the label

The first of the HANA-KOHAKU series to be launched was Plum.
The Japanesque design expresses the firm yet elegant harmony of Junmai Daiginjo sake and the fruit, inspired by the “umemusubi,” or plum knot, of mizuhiki knot-tying art. While different fruits decorate the logo, the plum knot stays constant, expressing the harmony between each fruit and Junmai Daiginjo sake.
